BUSES
Mr Bayer is the Bus Controller. Bus routes are on the website. There will be Senior students and staff making sure all new students get on the correct bus over the first few days. The Bus Bay is located at the front of the school on Peter Snell Road. BUS ROUTES

LOCKERS
Are available to purchase at the office. Small $20, Medium $30, Large $40 per year. You will need to provide their own padlock. Year 7|8 generally don’t require a locker as their equipment is stored in their home room class which are locked when not in use.

PRINTING CREDITS
You will need printing credits to be able to use the school printers. We recommend you purchase $5 from the school office which should last you the school year. The first $1 is free.

ABSENCES
It is essential that your parents advise any absences you may have. Absences can be text on the absence line: 027 360 2793, or phone 432 8226 ext. 701 or use the BBC APP.

BREAM BAY COLLEGE APP
The college app is available to download. Encourage your parents to download the App which enables them and you to email directly to teaching staff, office and absence line. You can also view your timetable from here.

DAILY NOTICES | CALENDAR | SPIDER LOGIN
It is important that you check your school emails and notices DAILY as this is where all school activities are posted. Your email will be: firstnamelastname@breambaycollege.school.nz e.g. johnsmith@breambaycollege.school.nz New students will be given there username and password on the first day of school.

OFFICE HOURS
The office is open for ”student queries” before school, interval and lunch times only. In the case of emergency or with teachers permission students may come to the office outside of these times. (You must show an out of class pass). If an item has been dropped off for you at the office, please come and collect it during interval or lunch only.

EFORMS
Permission for co-curricular events are sent out to the caregivers via an Eform to your email address. This will have all the relevant information about the trip and fields your parents need to complete for you to have permission to attend. It will also give them the opportunity to pay for the trip on line if they wish as most trips will incur a fee. Please note payments still can be made to the main office.
Helpful Hint: Once the form has been completed please push the SUBMIT button.

UNIFORM
Correct school uniform must be worn at all times. Shoes need to be majority black in colour. If you cannot be in school uniform you need to bring a note from home and see a Dean or DP for a uniform pass.

FRONT ENTRANCE
Students coming to the office must use the back entrance. The front entrance of the Admin Block is for visitors and staff only.

SIGNING OUT
If you are leaving school early or during school hours for an appointment you must
1. Get your parent/caregiver to sign you out at the front office, or
2. Bring a note from your parents and get a DP/Dean’s signature on it.

SICKBAY
The college has a boy’s sickbay and a girl’s sickbay. If you are feeling unwell, you must report to the office where staff will assess and help you. They will ring home if required. If you are placed in the sickbay no food or drink is allowed.

OUT OF BOUNDS AREAS
There is a school map in classrooms that clearly shows all out of bound areas, carparks, embankment, teacher staff room, building site.

SPIDER INFORMATION
You can log in to spider via the school website (top right-hand link) using your username and password. Here you can view your time table, assessments, reports, the calendar, daily notices, your absences, medical and other personal information. SPIDER LINK

SCHOOL CAFE
The Cafe is open at morning tea and lunch times. Cash and Eftpos are available. The current menu is on the website and display boards outside the Cafe. CAFE MENU

SHAKESPEAR CAMP
Year 7 and 8 will be attending Shakespear Camp in September of this year.

PARENT STUDENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
The first PST Day (Whanau Teacher based) will be held on Wednesday 28th February. You will be sent a link via email to book your appointment. You attend these with your parents. The college expects all students/parents to attend.

PTA
Your parents are welcome to attend the PTA meetings which are held week 2 and week 8 of each term. Please contact Sharon Carroll on 027 265 3227 for further information.

IMPORTANT EVENTS AT THE START OF THE YEAR
Thursday 8th February - Championship Swimming Day 9am start
All students MUST register for this championship event online prior to the day. The registration Eforms will be sent to students approximately 1 week before school starts – students must check their school emails. Students MUST enter a minimum of 3 races. Only 50m and 100m races and the 200m OPEN races are held on this day. Students must be competent at swimming 2 lengths of the pool to enter the championship day. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE Midday Wednesday 7th February.

Friday 16th February - School Athletics Day - Whole School event. Starts at 9am
House Colours is the expected dress code. The programme will be posted on the website prior to the day. A mixture of track and field events will run. Parents/Caregivers are welcome to attend. If you would like to help throughout the day please email mcarran@breambaycollege.school.nz

Friday 23rd February - NSS Triathlon
This is a Sport Northland event - Students may enter as a team of 3 or as an individual. Entries will be taken through Ms Carran closer to the time. Information will be put on the daily messages about how to enter. Transport is provided through the school.
